+ What is Congruent? Equal in size and shape or In agreement or harmony Two things are congruent when they have the same sizes as in dimensions and shape. Although this definition may sound like equal, congruent has a more precise meaning that we need to understand, especially for complex polygons.

+ Examples of Congruence A square with the same length sides are congruent An equilateral triangle has the same sides therefore they are congruent.

+ What are Congruent Triangles? If two triangles are congruent they will have the same three sides, same lengths and same 3 angles. “Congruent triangles can be rotated and/or mirror images of each other (reflected).”
