Cicadas By, Michael T.

Hello, My name is Mr. Cicada. Please don’t think of me as a gross insect. Please think of me as a nice loving garden doctor.

Here are some basic facts about me. I am a NICE bug. I come out every 17 years I come up in the middle of May. I come up to reproduce I go through three stages. First I am a egg then I hatch and become a nymph then finally I become an adult cicada I come out of the soil when the dirt is 62 degrees Fahrenheit. I suck my food out of trees. I make a loud sound to attract females.

Please don’t think of me like this.

AHHHHHHH WHATS THE PROBLEM HERE?

I eventually die off and get eaten by a cat, dog, snake, bird, person, or other insect.

Hello I am Ms. Cicada and I am about to lay my eggs.

Eventually We die off, our babies hatch and the process starts all over again. A nymph just coming out of his hole.

So next time you think of cicadas think of them like this
