WHAT A BAD DREAM BOOK BY: MERCER MAYER PRESENTATION BY: RYDER MESH

THE AUTHOR Born December 30, 1943 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Is a American children's book writer and illustrator. He has published over 300 books using a wide range of illustrative styles. Mayer published his first book, A Boy, a Dog, and a Frog, at Dial Press in It was notable for being a completely wordless picture book one that tells its story entirely through the use of pictures. He has three know series Little Critters, Little Monster, and A Boy, A Dog, Brain\ Great Brain illistrations.

BEGINNING Little critter had a bad dream that he drank a magic potion. Weird things started to happen, he grew pointy fangs, long claws, and bat wings with a long tail. He could roar so loud that he scared everybody and they left him alone.

MIDDLE The little critter lived all by himself and ate cookies and ice cream for breakfast. He never brushed his fur or his fangs. He got a pet gorilla. He never went to school. He just rode around on his bicycle wherever he wanted. He ate ice cream and fudge pops for lunch. He played with his gorilla outside as long as they wanted even after it was dark. Dinner time they just ate pizza and didn’t use napkins. He never took a bath even if he was dirty so he kept lizards and frogs and snakes in the tub instead.

ENDING He watched TV as late as he wanted and never had to go to bed. But he got sleepy and went upstairs. But when he got there their was no one to tuck him in and read him a story. He got scared and there was no one to give him a hug. He began to cry. He wanted his mommy and daddy. Someone was shaking him it was his mom and dad. You had a bad dream they said. So his mom and dad gave him a hug and a warm glass of milk. They tucked him in and said goodnight.
