Verb Verb- a word that can express action, events, or states. The horse ran wildly through the field.
Noun Noun-a person, place, or thing. The horse stood by the fence.
Pronoun Pronoun- a word that replaces a noun or other pronoun and used as the subject of a sentence. We watched the football players run around the field.
Adjective Adjective- a word that describes or modifies a noun or pronoun. The beautiful horse galloped the field.
Adverb Adverb- a word that modifies a verb, adjective, or another adverb. I slowly walked.
Preposition Preposition- connects nouns, pronouns, and other phrases to other words in the sentences. I looked across the ocean.
Conjunction Conjunction- connects words phrases, and sentences in a sentence. I ran to the car but I stopped.
Interjection Interjection- an interjection is a word added to a sentence to convey emotion. Wow! I saw the dog run across the road.
