Suggestions Metadata enrichment Geolocation buildings (cathedral and Jubilee parc triumphal arch) Geolocation streets (Avenue Anspach,...) Urban planning Mobility planning Historical notes and framing Links to historical and modern maps, itineraries of urban key words (cathedral, road, street lights,...)

Key Themes Brussels History (Historical events in Brussels, Expo and World Fair) Urban development (Evolution of the city over time, Urban planning, transport, parcs, streets,...) Tourism Architecture (Art Nouveau, famous buildings,...) / Art & Design (Fashion, sculptures,...) Cinema in the city Daily life Industry / factories / Production It is also important to think about cities on a meta level. What is a city, its roles,... Representations of and reflections on the city

Example Theme: World Fair ‘58 The World Fair in Brussels in 1958 was not only an important historical event, but it shaped the look of Brussels Famous Brussels landmarks were erected for the Expo and still exist today (Atomium, Expo halls Heizel, avenues...) Links to other world fairs and international expositions ( e.g. Turin 1910, Barcelona 1929)

Key Target Groups : Archives & Museums Partnership : Add, present, exchange, document... Institutional partners on city, regional and national levels : Archives : photographic archives (KIK, Photo archive of Brussels), local archives (Archief Stad Brussel ASB) Local history and heritage societies, tourism Museums: architecture, transport, city museum, history, industry

Key Target Groups : ICT Partners Creators : (re)use, innovate, create,... iMinds: A well-known and influencial institution in Belgium. iMinds Multimedia Lab iMinds city labs AV professionals and artists ICT partners of the educational institutions ICT partners of visit.brussels and other tourism organisations App designers & developers To reach ICT experts, we suggest organising events (hackathons, app battles,...) that allow them to view and work with the project materials. This will also mean that we must think about open database structures to allow them access.

Key Target Groups : Researchers & Educators Both academic and artistic Both professional and enthusiasts Collaboration with the Brussels Science Institute: Brussels has an excellent network of researchers combined from the city’s three universities. Focal points of research: History Urban development Sociology & anthropology Film & media studies Education Political sciences Universities, schools, Teacher training programmes

Key Target Groups : General Public Active Consumers: Use, contribute, participate Inhabitants, children, families, elderly... All ages Tourists “City lovers” / Local history, architecture, heritage enthusiasts Consumers become producers of metadata, research, reflection Since the general public will only have access to certain parts of the repository, it is especially important to consider how we will allow this group to use the material. CRB would like the general public to be able to create their own content using the repository content and adding certain elements (music, montage, colouring, text,...). This also implies the ability to file, up-and download and store materials.
