Detector Upgrades Overview CSN1 - 4 Maggio 132 Inner Tracker QCAL CCAL

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 133 Old Interaction Region In January the old DAFNE Interaction Region has been extracted from KLOE and completely disassembled Fake QCAL (actually Pb shields)

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 134 Modifications of IR components  New IP Spherical vacuum chamber  New beryllium shields  New BPMs  Moving devices for quadrupoles QF  Cooling of IP vacuum chamber added  Cooling of Y vacuum chambers added  Lead toroidal shields added  New Cylindrical vacuum chamber support  Improvements on alignment tools  H supports reinforced with plates  Modification of tail support of the girder  Temperature probes added

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 135 New spherical vacuum chamber  Single vacuum chamber tapered  New bellows with improved design  2 BPMS around the IP  Water cooling added  New beryllium screens

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 136 Mounting the new IR

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 137 CCAL 12 LYSO crystals in each module PCB housing SiPM and calibration LED housed by a 3d-printed ABS case

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 138 CCAL Copper coil for IR cooling Support flange for IT QD0 Beam Position Monitor

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 139 CCAL Test Test performed with the embedded calibration LED

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1310 IT Layers assembling Layer1 Ø 260 mm Layer4 Ø 410 mm Layer3 Ø 360 mm Layer2 Ø 310 mm In February the last Layer of the IT has been completed and in the π-day (March 14) the four detectors have been assembled together

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1311 IT Layers assembling Starting from the outermost one, all the layers have been inserted one into the other PCB Faraday-cage cap

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1312 Inner Tracker

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1313 IT FEE cooling  There are 90 FEE per side (180 GASTONE chips)  The heat power created is 100W per side  There will be a general air-cooling for the IR region and a dedicated water-colling for the IT FEE 5 copper rings as radiators The system is completed by 4 distributors with valves

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1314 IT positioned on the sliding support BP temporary supported by Al arm BP welded IT in final position

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1315 IT positioning on the IR Internal FR4 support flange Al support flange on QD0 0,5 mm clearance

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1316 QCALT 2 halves of one calo ready to be mounted LET house Both QCALT installed on the IR

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1317 IR equipped with all the detectors

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1318 Movement of IR May 20 the IR has been moved close to KLOE Here QCALT and IT are being cabled and tested

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1319 QCALT FEE mounting and cabling Each PCB has 4 front end boards with 20 channels each with HV regulator, preamplifier and splitter Each module is read out using 80 SiPM channels positioned with 0.05 mm precision on aluminum dioxide PCB

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1320 QCALT cabling Cabling of all 22 modules completed last week

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1321 QCALT test  Every channel has been tested after cabling to check SiPM working point and discriminator/scaler chain  SiPM procedure will be done only using scaler (no ADC present) looking at the variation of rate when moving discriminator threshold PED 1pe 2pe Now we are preparing the set up with final crate to perform long cosmic run using KLOE final data format

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1322 IT cabling Each IT side has:  90 readout cables  69 HV cables  36 gas tubes  8 cooling tubes  6 Temp. probes cables The first 2 layers have been cabled

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1323 Final HV and DAQ systems HV powe supply and Current meter HV distributor GIB + TB crate Trigger logic VME crates and optic link concentrator back side

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1324 Final gas system Gas rack with mass flowmeters and control in KLOE assembly hall Gas distributors in KLOE pit

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1325 IT cosmic ray test Layer1 test completed last week 2 scintillators trigger  We check that all the connections are properly done  To complete the scan we move the trigger in 6 positions  600 cosmics (1 ÷ 4 hours) per each position are enough

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1326 Next step: insertion into KLOE Rails and shell used for the extraction of the old IR KLOE DC inner hole (500 mm diameter)

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1327 Insertion clearances The shell will be shifted upward to increase the top clearance 8 mm will be the minimum clearance available between DC and IR Sides will be machined to gain 2 mm

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1328 Modification of the Shell Cable routing Shell Extension A 50 cm extension part of the shell has been built to allow the routing of the cables

CSN1 - 4 Maggio 1329 Time Schedule 6 week delay due to Be screens delivery Now we have 3 weeks delay
