Practice with Showing vs. Telling Group Challenge

Write a scene in which a woman is fired after only a week on the job.

Tell me a story that begins with a ransom note.

Put two people who hate each other in an elevator for 12 hours. What happens?

You are a customer lying face down on the floor during a bank robbery. Describe the robbery from this vantage point.

Finish this story: She walks cautiously up the pathway, not knowing what to expect. She slowly turns the doorknob, only to discover…

At a Chinese restaurant, your character opens his fortune cookie and reads the following message: "Your life is in danger. Say nothing to anyone. You must leave the city immediately and never return.” Tell this story.
