Using EduStat © Software Classical Items Analysis Computing
The classical items analysis supplies statistics on the metric quality of a test. Three statistical indexes are produced: i) the difficulty of items; ii) the discrimination of items and iii) the internal consistency of the test. Here are the steps of this statistical treatment.
Database 1 1 Menu Statistics 2 2 Open the database containing the test to be analyzed. In the menu Statistics, choose the option Items Analysis / Classical Analysis.
Coefficient of discrimination 3 3 Choose Pt. Biserial and Modified Formula. 3 3 Choose For each variable and Included. Missing values
Information to be added 5 5 Choose nothing for the moment. 5 5 Select Text Format. Report – Text Format
Report – Number of decimals 7 7 Select 3 decimals. Report – Delimitor of decimals Select the period.
Report – Name of the file 9 9 Identify the report to be produced. If required, select variables identifying the items of a single discipline at the same time. Selection of variables 10 9
Distribution 11 Choose Without distribution. Select All records. Choice of records 12 11
13 14 Compute 13 Press the button to execute the compilations. Examine the produced report. Edit the report 14
Note 2 The button Browse allows to consult the active database. Note 2 Note 2 Note 1 The window Report Language allows to choose the language of printing of reports.
