Lecture Capture Overview Lecture Capture is At minimum, audio plus electronic content (like powerpoint) – a‘vodcast’ Files available 24 x 7 Synchronized and indexed for ease of navigation Supports ‘blended learning’ Records lectures for review Supplemental materials Prerecorded lectures – instructors can ‘flip’ the classroom 25 March 2013 UTFAB Presentation 3

Enter, Echo360 With growing demand on campus, it was time to standardize, provide central support Recommendation from CRB endorsing Echo360 Supports two modes for recording Personal capture –on desktop/laptop, managed by instructor Classroom capture – appliance-based; hardware in classrooms Scheduled and ad-hoc OnlinePlus transitioned January from Panopto, January 2012 UTFAB support to launch the initiative, Jan Matching funding from CSU for an FTE 25 March 2013, UTFAB Presentation 4
