2 Interagency Collaboration? Dissemination –Joint interest CDC/NCI (Application/Research) –Complimentary strengths Shared interest in cancer Shared vision –Cancer care in the United States needs to improve. –Our investment in research needs to affect practice

3 Vision and Mission Conduct research and practice activities that span the translation continuum from discovery to the dissemination and adoption of effective interventions Focus on the Guide to Community Preventive Services –Disseminate and implement Guide-recommended interventions. –Add to the evidence-base in the Guide. Go beyond advancing the science of cancer prevention and control, we will also influence public health and primary care practice. Be actively engaged in enhancing large-scale efforts to reach underserved populations and reduce their burden of cancer.
