Background West Nile Virus is a health concern in the Midwest that affects body systems, necessitates prevention, and requires community awareness. This virus affects 8 of our main body systems. You can get this virus by being bit by mosquitoes. The mosquitoes can get it by feeding on birds that have the virus.
