National Honor Society Meeting October 15th, 2015

Mandatory Service Project Saturday, October 17 th will be our mandatory service project. All members are expected to participate in the Northwest High School football stadium clean up from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. If you cannot be there due to scheduling conflicts, you must sign-up to donate either gloves or trash bags. –Sign-up is in the front

Student Raffle Student raffle will begin next week! Students can sign-up to help a random teacher for a week before, after, or during school. Activities can include cleaning the room, grading papers, stapling, or anything else they may need assistance with. This will be a weekly event. Sign-up in Mrs. Bush’s room, AC 111, for whichever week fits into your schedule best.

Volunteer Opportunities Every week starting October 19 th –Student Raffle Fridays and Saturdays in October –New Day Church Pumpkin Patch, 101 East Highland Street –Need help operating bounce house, hay ride, and face painters –Contact Jacob Rose 1(940) if interested Saturday October 31 st –Medical Center Alliance, 3101 N Tarrant Parkway –Need help setting up and operating their Halloween even from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

New System We are getting rid of the point system! The new system will be based on service hours. 10 service hours will be due at the end of every six weeks. 5 hours must be community and 5 hours must be campus. Spectating school events/games and donating items to NHS or the school will be worth ½ hour. Participating in school events/games will be worth ¼ hour. Only 2 of the 5 campus hours can come from spectating, participating or donating. **Reminder** If you cannot make it to a group meeting, you must notify Mrs. Bush 24 hours in advance or it will be counted as an unexcused absence.
