September 3, 2014 WEDNESDAY NIGHT LESSON: PURPOSE

A question from conferences and exhibits “So, why are you here?”

Dr. Kent Brantly Two kinds of people: those who know why they are here and those that do not

We all know why we are here! … and many around us are eager to know

We are the city set on the Hill But sometimes we close the blinds!

Three suggestions to open the blinds Remember God when things are not going well … James 1:2-4 2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Three suggestions to open the blinds Remember God when things are going well … Luke 12:16-21 The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ Then he said, ‘This is what I will do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain.’ And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy: eat, drink and be merry.” But God said to him, You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself? This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”

Three suggestions to open the blinds You may not recognize your “Esther moment” immediately Esther 4:14 b “… and who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such as time as this?”

So why are you here? Let’s leave the light on
