A Mineral Is… …a solid object that is formed in nature and has never been alive. Some minerals are found in some of the foods that you eat. Some people wear minerals.

Different Kinds No two minerals are exactly alike. Minerals come in many shapes, sizes, and lusters.

Luster Luster means how shiny or dull a mineral is. Some words to describe luster are: Dull Silky Pearly Waxy Brilliant Metallic Shiny

Other Ways to Identify Minerals Color Some minerals have more than one color. Example: Quartz can be pink, purple, white, clear, or black.
