CVSC: Beneficial Use and Objective Study Phase 1 Progress Report 10 June 2010
Task 1: Identification of Existing and Potential Beneficial Uses in the Central Valley Developed Base Map, includes: Regional board boundaries County and city boundaries DWR Bulletin 118 groundwater basin boundaries California water (Calw221) Integrated Regional Water Management Planning Boundaries Elevation and Topography Major roads Major water supply or conveyance facilities and points of diversion Agricultural land and dairies State and local water districts Land use
Task 1: Identification of Existing and Potential Beneficial Uses in the Central Valley Beneficial Use Mapping Tabulated beneficial uses for water bodies from both the San Joaquin, Sacramento and Tulare Basin Plans and the Water Quality Control Plan for the San Francisco Bay / Sacramento - San Joaquin Delta Estuary Plan (2006, State Water Resources Control Board). Assigned categories (Existing, Exempt and Potential). Linked/intersect beneficial uses and water quality objectives with California Water layer (Calw221.shp). Apply ‘Tributary Rule’ for tributaries upstream (that are not assigned a beneficial use)
