Vocabulary Utopia – a place of ideal perfection especially in laws, government, and social conditions.

Chapters 1-5 Apprehensive – fearful of what may be coming Ironic – opposite of what is expected Chastise – express sharp disapproval Remorse – deep regret Adherence – an attachment or devotion (to a person, cause, etc)

Chapters 1-5 Aptitude – a natural tendency, inclination, or ability Gravitating – attracting or tending to move forward Serene- undisturbed, calm, quiet Distraught – crazed, very upset Chortled – chuckled, laughed

Chapters 1-5 Transgression – a violation Nurturer – one who feeds or takes care of someone Nondescript – belonging to no definite class or type; hard to describe Infraction – a violation of a law or pact Mystified – puzzled or perplexed
