Agenda You can see the agenda on Classes…you can go to the Altona web page and click on Classes. Learners are required to write this down in their planners each day. Date: Wednesday, August 24, 2013 Outcome(s): Learners will be able to… Question(s): How… Activities: Do Now… Note: If you have computer access, then the “Classes site” is where to go if a learner is absent.

Reassessments  Reassessments for all 8 th grade students will be during the 1 st and 2 nd quarters. I do not expect Geometry students to reassess, but it is available.  NO reassessments will be administered during the 2 nd semester.  A contract must be completed and signed by you, your learner, and Mr. Haginduff before the reassessment is administered.  Each learner will have 5 school days to complete the contract, schedule a time to reassess, and take the assessment. Mr. Haginduff is flexible during this process, and communication is of most importance.  Course 3 students that score an 80 or below on a unit exam will be required to reassess.

Homework Expectations  Work and/or reasoning is shown for all problems.  No more than 45 minutes of hard work is required each night.  If a student has worked hard for 45 minutes and has not completed the assignment, then stop and you (parent/guardian) will sign and date the paper.  Homework is not fully complete until all the problems are completed, checked, corrected (with work), graded (100, 85, 75, 65), and turned in to the appropriate box.  If homework is not completed by the due date and the learner has scored less than 75% on a “Gut Check Quiz” then the student will be asked to show me their homework. If they do not have previously assigned homework, then the learner will be assigned to HWC.  For late work, a learner will earn an 80% or 70% for accelerated classes.

Discipline Process for Mr. Haginduff’s Class Rules  Respect for myself, the teacher and my peers. This includes private and public property.  Work hard, always try and use good manners. This includes and is not limited to new concepts, class work, projects, homework, and peer interactions.  The classroom is our learning environment. When the bell rings you should: Be in your seat and begin the “Do Now”.  Bring required materials to class. Procedures for discipline Level 4: Go to the bench Level 3: Private conversation with a parent contact Level 2: Go into the hall with a private conversation Level 1: Redirection with warning

Questions or Comments There are cards on the front desk for questions. If I have not answered a question that you need answered, then fill out the card with your name, your learner’s name, a contact number or , and the question you would like answered. No question is too big or small.
