What does technology mean for our students? Enables greater access to community engagement and inclusive practices. Can mediate communication and promote communicative exchanges. Reduces educational inequalities, least restrictive practice and promotes positive engagement. Strengths-based, student-centered and family-orientated. Increases student engagement and on-task time. Educational tool for improving student outcomes and achieving learning goals. Can only be of benefit to those who have access.

Benefits and Drawbacks of Technology. Benefits Motivating for students Accessible to everyone e.g. switches, touch screen. Socially acceptable. Drawbacks Expensive Technology fails e.g. Flat battery. Equipment takes time to replace or repair. Not always portable
