Early Years Patrick Henry spent his childhood as a lazy boy. His father a well to do farmer realized early on that his son would never be a farmer. His father decided Patrick should go into academics instead. Like many teenagers, Henry didn’t want to devote himself to his education. Henry married at 18 and soon had a small family. He was an anti- federalist and firmly believed in state rights over federal rights. During his lifetime he was known as a radical and a revolutionary. His writings inspired a nation to stand up for their rights as citizens and defend the values of the country.
