Ellen Ochoa First Hispanic Astronaut BY: HAYDEN VANMETER

Ellen Ochoa  Born May 10, 1958, in Los Angeles, California  Got her master of science and doctorate degree at Stanford University

NASA  Became worlds first Hispanic female astronaut  She first flew in space on the shuttle Discovery in 1993 and logged more than 950 hours.  Veteran of four space flights  The four flights that she was on was the STS-56, STS-66, STS-96, STS-110  In September 2007 she was named the Deputy Director of NASA’s Johnson Space Center.
