Pluto-dwarf planet Elizabeth Ramsammy This is a photograph of Pluto. Pluto is not a multiple of a planets.

History Clyde W. Tombaugh discovered Pluto on February 18, Pluto got its name named after a Roman god of the underworld. Pluto’s symbol is:

History for The Other Dwarf Planets Ceres: Italian Giuseppe Piazzi discovered Ceres on January 1, Eris: Mike Brown discovered Eris on January 5, Make-make: A team of astronomers led by Mike Brown discovered Make-Make in March Haumea: Haumea was discovered in 2004.(couldn’t find name)

Solar System The order from the sun is the ninth planet.(not a planet anymore!) The distance from the sun is 6 billion kilometers. WOW!!!!! The orbital period is 248 earth years. The Rotation Period is about 6 Earth days for one Pluto day. On March 23, 2178, Pluto will finish its or- bit.

Solar System of The Other Dwarf Planets Ceres was considered a planet for around 50 years before being reclassified as a dwarf planet. Eris was considered as the tenth planet but then it was reclassified as a dwarf planet. Make-make was considered as a planet then it was reclassified as a dwarf planet. Haumea was considered another planet then it was a dwarf planet too.

Moons Pluto has 5 moons. Pluto’s moons are Charon, Styx, Nix, Kerberos, and Hydra.

Moons For The Other Dwarf Planets Haumea has two moons : Hi’iaka and Namaka Eris has one moon : Dysnomia Make-make has no moons Ceres does not have any moons, either.

Planet appearance Pluto’s appearance is bright polar cap. It also looks like a gray rock. People thought Pluto was red but it was actually gray. Pluto consists of rock with a very thick coating of ice. This is a picture of Pluto.

Other Appearances Haumea looks like a gray rock and looks like an egg. Make-make looks red. Eris looks half gray and half muddy. Ceres looks kind of gray and white.

Rings Pluto doesn’t have any rings. This is a picture of beautiful Pluto!

Exploration Charon was the name given to Pluto’s satellite when it was found in This is a photo of the rover sent to Pluto for the first time.

Interesting Facts If you are wondering if Pluto will ever hit Neptune- EVER, it won’t. Remember, Pluto takes a longer time to orbit the sun than Neptune does. Pluto was the smallest planet and furthest planet away from the sun in our solar system, now it’s not even officially recognized as a planet! Pluto temperatures range from -235 Degrees Celsius to -210 Degrees Celsius.

Did you finish early? Pluto’s atmosphere is made of nitrogen with some carbon monoxide and methane. This is a picture of the planets in the Solar system and Pluto’s unusual orbit.

All About The Other Dwarf Planets Ceres is located in the asteroid belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. It was discovered in Ceres was considered a planet for around 50 years before being reclassified as an asteroid and once again as a dwarf planet in Eris was discovered in 2005 and was referred as the tenth planet until it was reclassified in It is the largest dwarf planet.

All About The Dwarf Planets Make-make was discovered in 2005 and the third largest dwarf planet behind Eris and Pluto. Haumea was discovered in 2004 and named a dwarf planet in 2008.
