Of Mice and Men Day 12

Announcements Chapter 4 vocabulary is posted on my main page. You need to read all of chapter 4 by the end of the day on Thursday(we will read this together in class). Quiz on Friday (Vocabulary and the text). Be kind to one another. If something is even questionable to say do not say it.

Who would like to play Crooks?! Who would like to play the role of the narrator?!

Free-write! In chapter 3 we ended with a scene where Curley got his hand “caught in a machine.” How do you think Curley will act around George and Lennie? Do you think he will tell the boss (his father) that Lennie hurt his hand? What will Curley’s wife think of such an injury?

Who was more humbled after their humiliating defeat? Ronda Rousey or Curley?

Stop and Think Turn to page 33 in our text. Take a few minutes to read page 33. After reading page 33, please answer the following questions. 1. Describe the setting Steinbeck portrays for us. 2. Who comes into the room? How do you think the two will interact with one another?

Quick write Crooks says to Lennie, “Long as you won’t get out and leave me alone, you might as well set down.” Does the negro stable buck enjoy the company of Lennie or does he truly want Lennie to leave him alone like he says?

Quick write Crooks says,to Lennie,“Spose George don’t come back no more.” Why in the world would someone even mention that to Lennie? What do you think are the motives of Crooks asking such a devastating question to Lennie?!
