AAMVA Official Use Only Vehicle Working Groups Five Working Groups under the direction of the Vehicle Committee E-Title Unconventional Vehicles Three Wheel Vehicles Privacy of and Telephone Numbers NMVTIS Business Rules

AAMVA Official Use Only Electronic Titling (E-Titling) Working Group Established in 2010 to develop best practices that would assist jurisdictions with the development of uniform procedures and approaches for an electronic titling program. In the spring of 2012 the working group delivered a Proof of Concept Definition document that demonstrated the viability of an electronic titling process for new vehicles. Recently the AAMVA Board approved going forward with a proof of concept pilot. Several states are participating in the pilot over the next 2 years. E-Titling will minimize  Paper handling  Investigative/Administrative efforts  Opportunities for document fraud Chair: Debra Hillmer, South Dakota, 12 jurisdictional members and many stakeholders are involved.

AAMVA Official Use Only Unconventional Vehicles Working Group Established in 2005 to review the problems associated with a variety of unconventional and specialty vehicles that motor vehicle administrators and law enforcement officers encounter. Deliverable #1: Best Practices for Titling and Registration of New Motorcycles Completed Posted on AAMVA. website Deliverable #2: Best Practices for Titling and Registration of Mini-Trucks Completed Posted on AAMVA website. Deliverable #3: Best Practices Guide for regulating and registering rebuilt, specially constructed vehicles. In draft now, finalized August Deliverable #4: Best Practices Guide for regulating and registering Reconstructed and Rebodied Vehicles to be delivered in Chair – Mark Francis, British Columbia, 12 jurisdictional members

AAMVA Official Use Only Three Wheel Vehicle Working Group Established in 2010 to review the proliferation of and problems associated with a variety of three wheel vehicles that motor vehicle administrators and law enforcement officers encounter. Deliverable: A Best Practices Guide for regulating or restricting on-highway operation and registration of three wheel vehicles. In progress – report to be delivered in 2013 Chair: Becky Renninger, Oregon, 11 jurisdictional members

AAMVA Official Use Only Privacy of & Telephone Number and Monitoring of Data Use Working Group To be established in 2012 – 2013 to develop best practices related to the privacy of addresses and telephone numbers and to develop best practices for auditing companies that request bulk data from jurisdictions. Deliverable - Best Practices related to the privacy of and telephone addresses. Deliverable - Best Practices for requirements for auditing of companies that request bulk data sales from jurisdictions.

AAMVA Official Use Only NMVTIS Business Rules Working Group Established June 2012 to identify and address business issues relating to NMVTIS on an on-going, as needed basis. 20 issues that were identified over the last several months that need to be addressed from a business policy standpoint. Will be prioritizing the issues over the next few months. Meeting in-person in September to address the high priority issues. Holding conference calls on a regular basis to continue to resolve the outstanding issues that have already been identified and any new issues that are presented.
