Whitefish (Coregonus lavaretus L.) 2

Whitefish in Kaliningrad region Curonian lagoon Vystitys lake 3

Trade of whitefish in the Lake Vystitys 4

The aim of my work the development of the scientific approach to management of whitefish stock in the lakes of the southeast Baltic 5

Ecological approach It allows - to understand significance of the interaction between fishery and ecosystem components, - to obtain data about the influence of fishery on biological recourses, feed base, food chains and biological diversity, - to improve management instruments, - to participate different specialists in researches. 6

The tasks -Analysis of the current conditions of the population; -Analysis of biological parameters of the population (growth rate, feed composition, fecundity, parasitology, genetic etc.); - Evaluation of the present ecological conditions of the lake; - Development of ecological approach to rational using of the stock. 7

The methods of the investigation Biological analysis (measuring of length, weight, determination of sex ). Biometric analysis. Determination of age. Parasitology analysis. Genetic analysis. Structural analysis of catches and building of commercial models 8

9 The methods of the investigation

Parasitology 10 Results Number of parasites

Genetic 11 Results Network of Haplotypes by cytb-primer from Genbank data and from experiment

The example of the commercial model 12 SSB 50% Results

Expected results - Data about present conditions of the stock in the Baltic region; - Data about food reserve of whitefish subject to type of water bodies; -Data about ecological conditions of studying water bodies; -Data about parasitology structure; -Data about genetic structure; - Plan of perspectives of using whitefish in Kaliningrad region. 13
