Why do we have fire drills in school?

Why do we learn to dial 9-1-1?

Why do we look before we cross the street?

We have fire drills so we know what to do “just in case” there’s ever a fire We learn to dial “9-1-1” so we know how to get help when we need it We look both ways before crossing the street so we don’t get hurt Makes a lot of sense, doesn’t it?

So, why do we need to show strategies and prove every answer in our work? We show & prove so we know what to do “just in case” there’s ever a really tough question or passage We learn to prove every answer carefully so we know when to reread the passage and fix mistakes We show & prove all of the strategy ways before choosing an answer so we don’t get hurt by a poor grade
