Render– to provide or give (a service or help); cause to be or become In other words: give, provide OR make Children use Play-Doh and render it into different shapes and animals.

Bleak—not warm, friendly or cheerful, not hopeful or encouraging; lacking in warmth, life, kindliness In other words: depressing, cold, hopeless Which photos show something bleak?

My fathers view was that it was not at all bleak, or perhaps he did not want to discourage others, throw salt in their wounds.

Ghetto-- a part of a city, esp. a slum area, occupied by a minority group or groups. In other words: neighborhood for certain type of people How did your version of the word “ghetto” come from this actual definition?

Vigor--physical strength and good health. In other words: strength, health, toughness Which person shows vigor?

If vigor was that appreciated, perhaps one should appear sturdy?

Oppressive-- unjustly inflicting hardship and constraint, esp. on a minority or other subordinate group. In other words: harsh, cruel, brutal towards a group of people. How does this picture show oppression?
