Marilynn’s Introduction EDU 695: MAED Capstone

My name is Marilynn Sims

My family I would like for my guys to meet my family. The man the right is my wonderful husband of 11 years. The handsome boy in the picture with me is my handsome smart 10 year old son.

MAED Program has supported me toward achieving the professional goal listed…. The MAED program has helped me toward achieving the professional goal of educating all children, by teaching me how to be better managing a classroom. How to be more creative in planning and designing my activities in my curriculum. It also taught me to be a better observer and to use a better judge of character in teaching a diverse classroom.

The Challenges I experienced The challenges in my life was trying to juggle work, hoe and school work all at once. I struggled every day to study and maintain home and work. Working different shifts as a hospice healthcare worker and maintaining home can be very stressful. Above all else I am a perfectionist, so I have to make sure my life is in order as well as my GPA.

How did I overcome it?..... Prayer Study schedule Great family support system

How did the experience sharpen your knowledge and/or skill in teaching and learning? The experience taught me that I am a strong woman, and I have more confidence in myself then I thought. I t also taught me that I should not let my fear of failure dictate my path to greatness as a teacher and as a student. It also taught me that not to be afraid to introduce new creative skills to children, in hopes they might learn something.

Quote that symbolizes my belief about Framework for 21st century learning or Common Core State Standards. “To be effective in the 21 st Century citizen and worker must me able to create, evaluate informant from the computers”
