PopArt Your cushion is to be made up for 4 front sections. Each section will have a different technique (quilted applique, couching, stencil, embroidery), they’ll be patchworked together) Do not make your design too complicated Maximum 3 colours per idea. Designing: Stencil Applique Couching Embroidery

PopArt Heading - Initial Ideas Draw out 4x4 layout …. must be on blank page and please use a ruler (split page in half vertically and horizontally) Remember to use a pencil when designing… NOT A BIRO and please no FELT TIP PENS!!!! Level 5/6: Use colour and annotation to explain ideas Level 6+: Exploded diagrams to help explain ideas further, close up of special techniques Designing:

PopArt Designers use research to inspire their designs Your designs must include colour and annotation (labels explaining your thoughts). Can be repeat patterns or each square different. Decorative techniques: Stencil, Embroidery, Couching, Applique… consider these when designing (make your designs look like the technique) You have 5 minutes per idea….off we go… Designing Designers ALWAYS develop a range of ideas to help progress their initial thoughts We will now create 4 designs using EL

PopArt

Next Step : Final Design This is to be your best idea for your 4 piece cushion. It can be each section the same design or a mirror image of ideas. Beautiful presentation and full colour plus annotation (labels) Next step…FINAL DESIGN:
