 Research, collection and analysis of historical macro economical and statistical data  Focus on most disaggregated levels and past centuries (XIX & XX)  Analysis of main national historical events & Evaluation of public policies impacts on economical performance of a geographical area  Main objective: understanding the main factors of economic growth and development of a country/region  This stage: Focus on the data research and localization (online/libraries) 3 Project description

 Project started on 27 th July 2015  1 st Week (27/07 – 31/07): o Preparation and presentation of timeline and data survey o Practical information (VR card, access to libraries, etc.) o Research the main data sources and historical events per country  2 nd Week (03/08 – 07/08) o List of main variables to take into consideration (agriculture, industry, education, etc.) o Contact with National Ministries, Universities, experts and Statistical departments o Meetings with Harvard Librarians – how to use Hollis, online sources  3 rd Week (10/08 – 14/08) o Start to upload all data and information on the Dropbox (unlimited storage) o Creation of the HD 1 Information Table 4 Project timeline 1: Historical Data

 4 th Week (17/08 – 21/08) o Establishment of the HD Information Table – template and list of variables o Better understand the relations between statistical data and main historical events  5 th Week (24/08 – 28/08) o Fill in the HD Information Table – Where to find the useful information and data o Preparation of manual (Handbook) to easily use the Information Table o Better understanding of relations between statistical data and main historical events o Feedback and discussion with Yang about future steps  6 th Week (31/08 – 04/09) o Harmonization of the information per country o Global image of “where to find the Historical data” o Translation of information in English 5 Project timeline

 Choose the main variables to take into consideration  Provide the database to Harvard University (Economic Department)  Extract the useful data from main sources to better understand and measure the impact of main historical events and public policies  Analysis of specific Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for targeted industries and economic sectors 6 Future steps
