Lessons From The Heart Of A King

Seek God in worship & lifestyle 2 Chronicles 29:2 In God's opinion he was a good king; he kept to the standards of his ancestor David. Hezekiah’s seal

Seek God in worship & lifestyle 2 Chronicles 29:25 Hezekiah assigned the Levites to their places in the temple. He gave them cymbals, harps, and other stringed instruments… The Levites were ready to play the instruments that had belonged to David; the priests were ready to blow the trumpets… The musicians began singing praises to the LORD and playing their instruments, and everyone worshiped the LORD… Hezekiah and the crowd of worshipers knelt down and worshiped the LORD.

Seek God in worship & lifestyle Micah 6:8 He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Get organised & give 2 Chronicles 31:2 Hezekiah organised the groups of priests and Levites for their respective tasks, handing out job descriptions for conducting the services of worship: making the various offerings, and making sure that thanks and praise took place wherever and whenever God was worshiped.

Get organised & give 2 Chronicles 31:3 Hezekiah contributed from his own possessions… He told the people of Jerusalem to bring the offerings that were to be given to the priests and Levites, so that they would have time to serve the LORD with their work. As soon as the people heard what the king wanted, they brought a tenth of everything they owned, including their best grain, wine, olive oil, honey, and other crops.

Get organised & give 2 Chronicles 31:21 In everything that he undertook in the service of God's temple and in obedience to the law and the commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered.

Remember to pray! 2 Chronicles 32:1 After all that Hezekiah had so faithfully done, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah. He laid siege to the fortified cities, thinking to conquer them for himself.

Remember to pray! 2 Chronicles 32:20 King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah cried out in prayer to heaven about this. And the LORD sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the leaders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace.

Watch your heart – especially for Pride 2 Chronicles 32:25 Hezekiah was so proud that he refused to thank the LORD for everything he had done for him. Therefore the Lord’s wrath was on him and the people of Judah and Jerusalem. Then Hezekiah repented of the pride in his heart...

Watch your heart – especially for Pride 2 Chronicles 32:27 Hezekiah was very rich, and everyone respected him… In fact, everything he did was successful!

Watch your heart – especially for Pride 2 Chronicles 32:31 When envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart.

Watch your heart – especially for Pride 2 Kings 20:19 Hezekiah thought, "At least our nation will be at peace in my lifetime." So he told Isaiah, "The message you brought me from the LORD is good."

Watch your heart – especially for Pride Hebrews 12:1 We must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially the sin that just won't let go. And we must be determined to run the race that is ahead of us. We must keep our eyes on Jesus, who leads us and makes our faith complete.
