Evolutionary explanation of sporting events In modern society, tribal war fare has been replaced by sporting events in which different teams represent their tribes.

Best Goal Celebrations – YouTube Millwall vs West Ham incidents - YouTube

Task In 3s, you have 5 minutes to answer the question: “How can evolutionary psychology explain group display (both players and supporters) at sporting events”. Be prepared to feedback to the class.

Task 2- cutting and sticking You must elaborate on the links- write additional information down. Work out which bits (4 ) are the theory and stick down. Find the IDA points and stick them down. Now watch this video- take note of how he is explaining how aggression occurs in sports group-display-in-humans-for-example-sport-and- warfare.html group-display-in-humans-for-example-sport-and- warfare.html

Then work out which 2 bits are the supporting evidence – stick them down and ground them to the theory. Then decide which are AO3 points and stick them down. Then stick all the wider evaluation points down in an order that you judge fits best, and add any additional comments where necessary.

Plenary Put your initials on the continuum as to how good you think the adaptive explanation is of group display.
