Tractor timeline By Logan and Ethan

1920 tractors This is one of the oldest tractors. It was used during the 1920’s by farmers. It was powered by steam!

1930 tractors This tractor is newer than the last tractor. It is different from the last tractor because its front wheels are close together. We believe it was also powered by steam.

1940’s Tractors This tractor is similar to the 1930’s tractor because the front wheels are close together and the steering wheel and rivers seat are in the same position. This tractor is different to the 1930’s tractor because it has tyres on.

1950’s/1960’s tractors This 1950/60’s tractor still has tyres on but the two front wheels have moved apart. The steering wheel and drivers seat position is still the same. The tractor has headlight at the front, none of the other tractors have headlights on them.

1970’s Tractors This tractor is different to the 1950/60’s tractors because it has a cab for the farmer to sit in. this helps to keep him warm and dry. The back wheel on this tractor is much bigger than the older tractors. This tractor has headlights just like the tractor from the 1950/60’s.

1980’s Tractors This tractor is much bigger than the last tractor. It can pull heavier loads and trailers. This tractor has flashing beacons on its roof to warm people that it is there. Just like the 1970’s tractor it has a cab for the farmer to sit in.

1990’s tractors This tractor has bigger wheels at the front, this helps to spread the weight of the tractor so it doesn’t sink when driving over wet ground. The cabin of this tractor is bigger, so they can fit more technology in.

Tractors today This is what tractors look like today!
