The Race Cars The cars are built by Reynard, who also constructed the original F1 Honda BAR cars These cars were built for the feeder series Champ cars in the US (think how GP2 is to F1) These cars do 450 BHP/per tonne with a V6 Dodge engine (and are specially tuned so that they are safe for novices) Each car has a carbon fibre chassis and is built to FIA safety standards. This means they have similar safety standards to F1 cars. They have the full race configuration … And, you will be one of the few people in the world to drive a race car like this! Your company logo
The Race Experience and Driver Training Learning the basics Your day begins with a safety briefing - with cars this fast, safety is paramount You will learn how to be comfortable in the car You will learn how to drive safely on a race track Then … you will learn how to get a whole lot faster Under instruction, each driver gets a lot of driving. This means at least 1 hour driving per day (that’s a whole lot of driving in a race car!). This hour is split into training sessions that average 15 minutes … or more if you are up for it. Directions to WESBANK RACEWAY From Sandton & Pretoria: Take the N3 going south from either the N1 from Pretoria or travelling East from Sandton from the Western (N1) bypass to the Eastern bypass. Pass the Gilooly interchange (where you would turn left to Jan Smuts) and continue on the N3 past the Germiston offramp and take the Rand Airport offramp (before Alberton). Turn left after the offramp into Rand Airport Road. Gosforth Park is the first entrance on the left before the Rand Airport Entrance. From Johannesburg: From the city take the M2 East heading towards Germiston. Then take the N3 Durban keep in the middle lane. Take the Rand Airport off ramp and turn left into Rand Airport Road. At the next robot turn left into the entrance for Gosforth Park, just before the entrance to Rand Airport.
What to wear … Fantastic Racing will provide all the race gear. All you need to do is bring sports wear that is appropriate for the season and the weather. When is start time … To get the most out of the event it’s very important to arrive on time for the driver and safety briefing. Please ensure that you allow for traffic and are at the venue on time.
