Mission: CSDA promotes and supports the county child support agencies in their efforts to provide for the economic well-being of the children and families served by California’s Child Support Program. Child Support Directors Association

 Established: 2000 as a 501(c)(6)  Represents Child Support Directors from 52 LCSAs representing 58 counties across the state  Governed by a Board of Directors made up of 10 child support directors and two non-directors  President: President: Sharon A. CSDA 09/10 Goals CSDA Shall Continue to recommend program improvement initiatives and to educate stakeholders about the benefits of a fully funded, robust child support program; Continue to recommend CCSAS system improvements to support the efficient delivery of child support services;

Child Support Directors Association Finance Committee Mission: To support the CSDA Membership by providing information that promotes effective utilization of program funding and maximizes resources. We pledge to collaborate and cooperate in order to encourage open communication.” Objectives: Provide a process and forum for raising, discussing and resolving issues related to program financial issues. Identify and comment on funding issues that will impact performance. Facilitate and communicate financial best practices

Child Support Directors Association Legal Practices Committee Mission: To promote uniformity of legal practices throughout the IV-D community of local child support agencies, State Department of Child Support Services and IV-D courts, to make available a forum for discussion and resolution of legal issues in the IV-D community, and to provide input for continued development and maintenance of the Statewide automation system, resulting in uniform legal practices Statewide, improved relationships with the Courts and case participants to the benefit of the child support program.

Child Support Directors Association Legal Practices Committee Objectives: Identify and encourage the adoption of uniform legal best practices. Facilitate statewide communication to LCSAs and the courts regarding legal best practices. Identify and comment on automation issues that will impact legal practices in the child support program. Identify training needs for LCSA attorney staff regarding legal practice issues. Provide a forum for discussion and resolution of issues in the IV-D legal community.

CSDA Policy and Regulations Committee Mission: “To coordinate the county level development, discussion, review and comment of proposed, existing, or necessary policies and regulations of the Department of Child Support Services (DCSS).”

CSDA Policy and Regulations Committee Objectives: Establishes and maintains both a structure and the process for regular and direct interface/dialogue with DCSS to ensure the Child Support Directors Association’s (CSDA) issues and concerns are fully considered as part of the development and maintenance of DCSS policies and regulations.

Child Support Directors Association Annual Conference The 2009 conference was attended by about 700 child support professionals. The 2010 theme is: Going to Extremes to Benefit Families; Innovation, Performance, Results. Workshops will address service delivery, performance improvement, fiscal, training, legal issues and more. The 2010 CSDA Child Support Conference and Training Expo will be held from October 5 th -7 th in Garden Grove, CA.

CSDA Website The primary CSDA website includes a Content Management System (CMS) which allows committee chairs and other designates to update web pages to ensure content is relevant and up to date. The website also includes a restricted access portion that is available to Directors and their designates that includes committee minutes and other information that is not available to the general public.
