STATE OF TEXAS UNIFORMED ADMISSION STANDARDS Per Texas state law, Uniform Admissions Policy, TEC requires that all students must meet one of the following college readiness standards in order to be eligible to be considered for admission at a Texas Four-year Public Institution. 1.Successfully complete the Recommended or Distinguished Achievement high school program 2.Satisfy the College Readiness Benchmarks on the SAT or ACT assessment  SAT – 1500 out of 2400 (this score requirement includes writing)  ACT – 18 English, 21 Reading, 22 Mathematics and 24 Science

Academic Excellence Scholarship Amount: $2,500 to $8,500 per year Qualifications: For students who have a competitive academic profile – typically  1200 on the critical reading and math sections of the SAT and/or  25 ACT composite  class rank in the top 20 percent.

HOW DO I SIGN UP? IS THERE A WAY TO TAKE IT FREE? If you are on free or reduced lunch, you may get a fee waiver form from your counselor for two administrations per test.
