T HESIS S TATEMENTS Concept Attainment

In the face of truth, one must fight to uphold one’s ideals in order to remain true to oneself. Don’t judge a book by its cover. In Fried Green Tomatoes, Fannie Flagg suggests that individuals who resist societal roles will struggle to find acceptance. I think the main idea of the poem was about teens and how they don’t get along with their parents because of differences. When society’s constraints are removed, individuals may regress to a savage state. This may lead to cruelty towards civilized individuals. In the film, “Radio”, the townspeople treated Radio like an outsider, which is really unfair. Often, the success of a goal is directly related to an individual’s ability to endure the sacrifices required in order to achieve it. When people lie, it causes others to mistrust them.

In the face of truth, one must fight to uphold one’s ideals in order to remain true to oneself. When in a sticky situation, people should wing it rather than stick to the plan. They might be more successful. In Fried Green Tomatoes, Fannie Flagg suggests that individuals who resist societal roles will struggle to find acceptance. There are many ways to react to societal roles, all of which contain consequences. When society’s constraints are removed, individuals may regress to a savage state. This may lead to cruelty towards civilized individuals. In Lord of the Flies, Golding develops the idea that people will avoid responsibility to be accepted. Often, the success of a goal is directly related to an individual’s ability to endure the sacrifices required in order to achieve it. As long as people never give up, they will find happiness.

T ESTERS When an individual blindly follows traditions, principles and morality are lost. In order to overcome the loneliness that is often associated with shyness, an individual may need to force themselves to become more outspoken and gregarious. When an individual rebels against the roles placed upon her, there are negative and positive consequences. It’s important to never give up and follow your dreams. Sometimes in life, people may experience conflict with a parent because the parent and child make assumptions about each other. This may lead to a breakdown in their relationship. When Idgie rebels against the roles placed on her by society, she is able to find happiness.
