HOW CAN WE MAKE WALKING AND BIKING SAFE? A collaborative project between the College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs, the Department of Civil Engineering, and the Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. The project is supported by the Transportation Research Center for Livable Communities (TRCLC), a University Transportation Center (UTC) supported by the US Department of Transportation (DOT).
PROBLEM WE IDENTIFY
■Our willingness to walk, run, or bike can be influenced by our perception of safety ■We want to improve the quality of the data available to local governments for improving bicyclist and pedestrian safety ■We want to empower you to report when and where
■Have you ever ride a bike and a car almost or did hit you? ■Have you ever walk or run around your neighborhood and have a bike cut you off? ■Have you ever wished that there is a way to report these incidents to local government or transportation agencies?
THAT’S WHY WE MADE AN APP FOR THAT
