Objectives  HSTW Coaches will review information regarding data points on the current Ohio School Report Card.  HSTW Coaches will understand the alignment of the Key Practices with the current Ohio School Report Card.  HSTW Coaches will be able to use the tools from this session to support their schools in Report Card analysis.

Why should the Report Card matter to us as HSTW Coaches?  1. Provides us, as HSTW Coaches, with credibility regarding how to use state data for our schools.  2. Provides the relevance of HSTW to the Ohio Improvement Process.  3. Provides support for determining the Key Practices needed to address challenge areas in the school’s data.

Activity  Objective : Table groups will use sample Report Card component pages and the tools provided in this session to analyze the data and create additional HSTW Key Practices questions for discussion.  Materials:  Sample pages from various report cards  School Report Card Analysis page (tan)  HSTW Key Practices: Questions for Discussion (gray)

Directions 1. With your table, review the assigned report card component. 2. Use the tools provided to analyze this component for the school. 3. Review the Key Practices Questions page and draft additional questions you would ask this school to help them incorporate Key Practice strategies. 4. Write your draft questions on post-it notes and add to the appropriate wall charts. 5. Be prepared to briefly share your analysis and your questions.

Group Share-Out  Briefly summarize your group’s analysis of the assigned Report Card component.  Relate which Key Practices you think best align to the data in this component.  Share additional Key Practice questions you have created.  (Make sure you have added your questions to the wall charts for updating the Tool.)
