Teaching Point: “To analyze how water moves around the world.” Do now Discussion: We have all learned about the water cycle before. Which part do you think is the most important for life?

1a. Evaporation- the sun heats up liquid water and turns it into water vapor. 1b. Transpiration- when the water in trees and plants evaporates into the atmosphere TP: “To analyze how water traverses around the world.” From a Liquid to a Gas

2. Condensation- when air saturated with water vapor (gas) becomes a liquid forming clouds. From a Gas to a Liquid TP: “To analyze how water traverses around the world.”

3. Precipitation- any water falling from the atmosphere (rain, snow, hail, or sleet) Water Falling Back to Earth TP: “To analyze how water traverses around the world.”

4a. Infiltration- the absorption of water in the soil becoming groundwater 4b. Runoff- the movement of water along the surface of the Earth. Water Back Into the Earth TP: “To analyze how water traverses around the world.”
