Entering the classroom Enter quietly Wear ID Sit at your assigned seat Turn off cell phone and place in backpack or purse

TARDY? Less Than 5 Minutes – I Will Mark You Tardy More Than 5 Minutes - Go Directly to Your AP and Get a TD5 Slip. This Will be Your Admittance Slip Into My Class Your AP Will Assign Consequences

ID Violations You Must Wear Your ID at All Times All Temporary ID’s Are Distributed Through Your AP’s Office Your AP Will Assign Appropriate Consequences

Before Class Begins Sharpen pencil if necessary Sit down in your assigned seat Read board for morning agenda Fill out your daily log properly - the daily log is a grade

Organizing Your Folder Insert notebook paper into brads Keep ALL graded papers in folder pockets until notified Keep class procedures Correct & keep ALL tests

More Folder Info Tests are study guides for semester exam Keep your notes and daily work up-to-date Worksheets may be used for tests

Daily Log Copy date, learning objective, and assignment (agenda) Respond to journal prompts in your folder. Write the prompt and use a topic sentence plus at least 1-2 additional supportive sentences Write a summary of what you learned at the end of class Daily Log time is “quiet time”

When the Teacher Needs Your Attention: (Not Often) I will raise my hand or clap my hands Turn to look at me Raise your hand or whisper to classmates that I need your attention Be Quiet Listen

Going to the Restroom Go to the restroom before you enter class Do not ask to go to the restroom during instructional time Must be wearing ID Take the green pass Don’t abuse the privilege…the restroom is close by!

Assignments -Heading Complete name, period, & date 5 points deducted for incomplete heading Jane Smith 1 st period

Assignments Work only on Parenting assignments unless given permission All unauthorized materials (books, homework, etc.) will be picked up for retrieval after class Check with me for lost or missing assignments

Turning in Assignments All assignments are to be placed in the tray on my desk Assignments may be passed forward and placed in the tray by one of the students at the front desk If taking a test, bring your test to my desk, turn the test over and place it in the tray Late papers receive half credit

Finished Early? Read a magazine Check out a laptop Do other class work Don’t ask to leave early

Make-up Work for Excused Absence I usually put any work you have missed into your folder Copy a classmates daily log Check with a classmate for notes Make up work must be turned in on time (one day per day of absence is allowed) Late work is given half credit If you are absent when we take a test, you will need to schedule a time to take your test Place make up work in the tray on my desk

Thirsty or Hungry? Bottled water is allowed Get a drink before class at the fountain down the hall Eat breakfast before you come to school Eat lunch during your scheduled lunch period We may have “special” days for food – in that case, enough food must be brought for the entire class

Recycling Place clean, flat paper in green recycling bin No trash or paper food containers please – Use the trash can for those items please

Questions? Check your procedures first Ask a classmate near you using your quiet voice Raise your hand for my attention

Group Procedures You are responsible for your own work and behavior. You must ask each Support Buddy for help if you have a question. You must be willing to help any Support Buddy who asks for help. You may ask for help from the teacher only when the group has reached consensus with the same question.

Use of Laptops Remove your assigned laptop carefully from the cart Plug laptop into an electrical outlet – if not charged Visit websites listed in the class assignment Do not visit your , Facebook, YouTube, or Instagram, etc. Keep fingers off the screen

Use of Laptops cont. Get Assignments/Turn in Assignments folders may be used when needed Screen must be black before closing laptop Return to appropriate place on the cart – laptop number should be visible at the top… plug back into outlet

End of Class/Dismissal Clean up desk and around your chair Replace supplies used during class Dispose of trash properly Place your folder into your class bin Wait at your desk for my dismissal
