Accelerator Shift Plot

Users Shift Plot

Current Store Determine Store turn-around based on: – Decay Fit – Pbar Progress

Luminosity Decay Projections No store this morning….

Studies Requests Linac Booster No major Requests Main Injector  See separate page Pbar  Stacktail upgrade (see separate page)  AP2 orbit adjustments to mitigate losses at AP50  Mitigate stacktail heating of the core (very hard – next couple of weeks)  Improvements to the Debuncher Cooling Recycler  See Separate page. Tevatron  Continue to work operating point with chromatic sextupoles set to zero.  TEL1 beam-beam compensation.

Recycler Studies  Short Term  Compound bucket studies (Chandra, Sasha)  Diffusion Study – D. Broemmelsiek  Sequencer upgrades – C. Gattuso  Abort line study (protons) – Dave Johnson  Longer Term  R22 line dispersion function (Ming-Jen)  Mapping LAM222 fields (Ming-Jen)  Tuning at 190G in ECool cooling section (Sasha, Lionel)  Recycler Impedance measurement (Martin, Jim Crisp)

Main Injector Studies – Multibatch Slip Stacking Studies (2.5 second $2E) – Multibatch Slip Stacking to Pbar/NuMi Targets (2 Hrs.) – Barrier Bucket Stacking (2.5 second $2E ) – 150 Lattice Studies (3 second $2B) – Pbar Injection Damper measurements – Aperture Scans (0.5 second $2E) – MI-8 Collimator scans. – Multibatch Slip stacking to Pbar and NuMI. Unstable beam (2 hours). NuMI pushing for this.

Tevatron Sextupole Upgrade Phase 1 – Splitting the loops (done) Phase 2 – Running new Sextupoles loops at zero current Work continues…. Phase 3 – Flip polarities on chromatic sextupoles. This requires access time.

Pbar Stacking Upgrade Stacktail Leg 3 Implementation – Heats the core emittances. – Requires reasonable timeline – 5% hit on stacking. Accumulator Lattice – Six hours of Reverse Protons + Multiple hours of tune-up. Delta-Kickers – Measure and attempt to turn on delta-kickers. – Add Deibele filters to delta legs – Measurements (1+ hours with no stacking) New Equalizer – Mid-May

Accumulator Optics Optics Status – /628840/628900Hz – 8cm dispersion too much? ½ of previous Valeri goal of <5cm Next Measurements/Study Period – Install next lattice (1hr) Measure dispersion on core orbit – make decision – core orbit lattice meas. – Admittance on central orbit (0.5hr)-- make decision Running Wave and correct on central orbit (1hr) Measure admittance on all 3 orbits (1.5hr) – Tunes across aperture (.5hr) – Re-check dispersion on core orbit (.5hr) Next-Next studies – AP3 lattice (pbars; protons; pbars) – semiparasitic P143 calc and publish new lattice for P150 and P206 – Measure slip factor across aperture (rev proton, or leftover pbars) – Commission Deb TBT BPM for reverse protons D/A optics measurements Leave lattice in – Adjust parameters and software A:RCETA, (injection and deposition frequency) – Accllrf, P142, P153(?) P44 for chromaticity P51 for beta functions to calc dispersion P162 for beta function for fit of TBT rev protons P145 for accumulator orbit correction P148 setup of FFT window span & freq P207 file sharing value for eta- extraction P188 files (DVM will think about) Cooling delays (Valeri will calculate) Hard coded Sequencer & ACL scripts – Stack (tune for several shifts) Check Phasing (1hr) Center tanks (on-going) – Transfers (check efficiency and MI IPM) Pbar experts want to do this no later than tomorrow?

Accesses Linac Booster – Access to remove old 8GeV components (Multiple 4 hour accesses) Main Injector Recycler – None Pbar Tevatron – Access for Chromatic Sextupoles Polarity Flip (4-8 hours) – Cold Leak Check A1 (4 hour access) – More turbo station work (8 hour access)

Maintenance Linac – (8 Hrs) Adjust Drive Loop on stations 3 and 5: Effects penetrations! – Done: (4 Hr x1) Test new LLRF: Proof of principle experiment on station 5 – (4 Hr) Work on Debuncher Water skid – Started: (4 Hr x3) Alignment work for MTA line Booster Main Injector Recycler – New Dampers (still not working) Pbar Tevatron – A0 Kicker Room AC Unit (4 hours no Tevatron Beam)
