ASW  Upload window opens May 23, closes June 10  ASW is still a state-mandated process  DO NOT WAIT TO FIND OUT YOUR STUDENTS TO ASSESS

ASW Alternative Process Process  Teacher Validated Class Schedule o Challenging for Data Managers because of different sections, Magnet courses, multi-grade courses, course code anomalies, …  Principal Approves Validation  Platform Chooses 5 target classes  Teacher Selects 1 objective per class (representing different strands/standards from the curriculum)  Principal Validates Objective Selection  Teacher gathers evidence from 2 points in time  Teacher uploads evidence with narrative explaining growth  Outside raters review and determine rating (does not meet/meets/exceeds expected growth)  Teacher receives rating and generic comments several months later  If teacher is on a semester plan the process is repeated twice each year.  No Schedule Validation is necessary  Teacher selects 2 representative classes  Indicates objectives and growth goals with administrator at initial PDP conference  Teacher gathers evidence, writes narrative to reflect growth  Teacher & Administrator meet to review artifacts – determine rating as a function of Standards 1-5  ASW Rating itself cannot make/break the teacher on any single standard but serves to inform the overall ratings  Results can inform future PDP goals Overall district results will be shared with DPI
