Leviticus: A Study of the Law Lev. 26:43-46

Chapters 1-7: Offerings  Some were voluntary, giving to God to thank Him and show fellowship with Him  Others were required because of unintentional sin – Lev. 4:1-4  They had to be spotless – 1 Pet. 1:17-19

Chapters 8-10: The Priestly System  Aaron and his sons were consecrated to serve as priests – Lev. 8:10-13  Today Jesus is our high priest – Heb. 5:5-10  Every Christian serves as a priest under the new law & new covenant – 1 Pet. 2:1-5  Nadab and Abihu serve as a warning – Lev. 10:1-3

Chapters 11-17: Concerning Purity  Many things were unclean and would make the people unclean  Not so today – Rom. 14:13-14  The people would be purified on the Day of Atonement – Lev. 16:32-34  It foreshadowed Jesus – Heb. 10:12-18

Chapters 18-27: Morality  Laws regarding sexual relations, treatment of our neighbors, judges, and vows  All with one common theme – Lev. 19:1-4  God promised blessings for obedience and punishment for disobedience – Lev. 26:3-12,  True morality comes from the Lord – Rom. 2:12- 16
