1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Mercy  Eleos - is the outward manifestation of pity; it assumes need on the part of him who receives it, and resources adequate to meet the need on the part of him who shows it. –Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

Mercy  oiktirmos - pity, compassion for the ills of others, –2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

Mercy  Splanchnon - "affections, the heart," always in the plural in the NT, has reference to "feelings of kindness, goodwill, pity,“ –Philippians 2:1 Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy,

Mercy  hilaskomai (a) "to be propitious, merciful," Luke 18:13, in the prayer of the publican; (b) "to expiate, make propitiation for," Hebrews 2:17, "make propitiation."

Regarding Mercy:  God is a God of mercy.

Mercy doesn’t negate obedience. Proverbs 28:13 He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. Luke 1:50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation.

For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. James 2:13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment. Luke 10:37 And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

And again, “The LORD will judge His people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Mercy won’t always be available. Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, Luke 16:19-26
