location Mission San Francisco de Solano is located in Sonoma. near the main part of town of Sonoma

Priest Around this time, in 1820, Father Altimira sailed from Spain to Alta California. At the time he built San Francisco de Solano.

Daily life The life of the Indians was the same every day. The men hunted fish. The women wove baskets. The kids washed the clothes. Every day the bells rang in the morning to wake up the Indians.

People of the Mission The missions Indians are the Coast Miwok and Pomo Indians. The Indians wore animals fur in the winter. They were 30,000 Indians. There lived there for years. It was hard for some Indians. Some didn’t get along with the missionaries. Other Indians followed the mission rules.

Hardship Many Indians left because they didn’t like how they were being treated at the missions. Only about 1,000 Indians stayed at the mission. It was the only mission in San Francisco to be burned down.

Conclusion My mission is the 21st mission and I hope to visit the mission some day.

Interesting Fast The mission is near Sonoma winery. It is the last mission ever to be built.
