Press 6 acupressure points to lose weight

One of the major concerns of today’s lifestyle is weight gain, and the stress to lose weight is increasing day by day. People have realized that weight loss supplements and other unnatural ways of losing weight is not a sustainable method. They are, therefore, turning to natural ways of losing weight. Acupressure, a traditional Chinese therapy, has proved to be a good solution of losing weight. Although it sounds easy that just by pressing certain points on your body you can lose weight, acupressure needs expert hands and knowledge of the therapy. Acupressure practitioners claim that many people have lost weight through acupressure. Acupressure, when combined with a healthy diet and exercise, can really help lose weight, say practitioners.

What is acupressure? Acupressure is an ancient healing method, in which you need to press key healing points with your fingers. This process stimulates the body’s natural self-curative abilities, and relieves pressure on the digestive system. The method of acupressure was found in Asia over 5,000 years ago. Acupressure is effective in relieving stress-related diseases, particularly for boosting the immune system. Acupressure for weight loss When you apply a little pressure on the special energy meridian points on your body, they give out excess heat and moisture, and in the process improve circulation. This helps to lose weight. Since acupressure strengthens the digestive system, it helps to control appetite.

Stress can actually lead to eating disorders. And by acupressure, you can reduce stress. But, of course, you have to pay a little attention on the food you eat, along with practicing acupressure, on a daily basis. You need to practice acupressure for just half an hour every day, and you can feel the change in your body. There are six pressure points for weight loss. You may start by massaging these areas and then apply pressure on these points. End the process with another light massage on the same areas. To start with, consult your doctor to know if your body can handle acupressure for weight loss. This is more important for people who have health problems.

#1: Appetite control point Stimulate the appetite control point at the beginning and end of each acupressure session. There is a pressure point on your ear, which is called the appetite control point. Putting pressure on this point helps to stop overeating. This point is the fleshy flap part of the ear above the ear lobe and in front of the ear canal. Apply constant pressure to this spot for 3 minutes.

#2: Spleen point Locate the pressure point for the spleen that can help to regulate your digestive system. The pressure point for the spleen is found above the anklebone on the inside part of your leg, towards the back and just off the bone. It is just four-finger width above the anklebone’s center. Press the point with your knuckle and thumb. Hold firmly for 1 minute and release gradually. Pregnant women should not use this pressure point.

#3: Stomach point Nourish your blood and digestive system by using the pressure point for your stomach. From the lower point of your kneecap, move your fingers 4-finger down. From there, move towards the outside of your leg 1-finger off the shinbone. There you will find the stomach point. Hold the point with medium to firm pressure for 1 minute.

#4: Spleen point Stimulate a pressure point of the spleen, which helps to regulate the body’s metabolism of water. Slide your finger towards the inside of the leg until you pass the shinbone. Move your finger up about 1 inch (2.5 cm) along the shinbone towards the knee. Your fingers should fall into a natural hollowed, rounded part of your leg on top of the leg bone. Hold the spot firmly for 3 minutes.

#5: Intestine point Relieve the pressure point for the large intestine. Move your fingers a thumb-width from your elbow joint to the inside crease of your elbow. Start with your left arm by keeping your left hand close to your chest and using your right thumb to apply pressure for about 1 minute. Repeat on the other arm.

#6: Abdomen point This pressure point is found 3 cm (Ren6 in pix) below the belly button. This point boosts the digestive system and gives strength. It also reduces constipation. Place two of your fingers on it and massage by moving your fingers up and down. Then press this point for at least 2 minutes twice a day.
