Introduction hueTV consists of a PC application and an Android application that control how the Philips hue Lighting System synchronizes with the TV display based on signals received from a DIRECTV satellite dish.

Light Tracks  Light tracks are similar to audio and subtitle tracks.  It adds another layer to viewing experience  Played in addition to videos  Uses the Phillips Hue Lights  Light track format  hh:mm:ss {light# attribute1:val1 attribute2:val2}

Android Application  The purpose of the app is to trigger light tracks using time stamps from the DIRECTV receiver.  It allows the user to start, stop, and resume a light track.

 Accessible through Android’s menu button.  View current receiver settings.  View current bridge settings.  Modify bridge settings.  Change default light track play setting.  Get help. App Settings

PC Application  It allows developers to create light tracks for their shows or movies.  This means multiple light tracks may exist for a single show or movie.  Not meant for home use  Most users will only be using the app to play the light tracks

Proposed UI

PC App Functionalities It displays a new icon if a new light bulb is added. It simulates the color, brightness and on/off state of the light. A new icon will be added if a new light bulb. The light icon show its color and on/off state. Color will change to black when off.

Light Tabs It will automatically add one more tab if a new light bulb is added. It allows the user to adjust brightness, color and on/off. module Once a new light bulb is added, a new light tab would be added.

It allows the user to load a video into app. It allows the user to view a video from frame to frame. It displays a timeline in a user editable interval. It displays a representation of which lights are active for what interval on the timeline. Light color would change according to the time selected Time interval of light track Selected Video Sync and Timeline

Saving and Loading Light Tracks It allows the user to save light tracks as a text file. It will also display warning if the light track cannot be saved. It allows the user to load an existing light track file. It will also display warning if the light track cannot be loaded. SaveLoad

Next Quarters Plans  Winter Quarter:  Android app is the main priority.  As we get to testing and debugging, some group members will transition to working on the PC app.  Spring Quarter:  It is dedicated entirely for the PC app (including building, debugging, and testing)  We will also prepare for the final presentation.
