Functions of the Health and Wellbeing Board The aim of the Board is to make health and social care planning and decision making everyone's business. Its aims include: Development, interpretation and use of the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) to shape commissioning and spending plans Development and agreement of a health and wellbeing strategy Consideration of commissioning plans for health and social care Agreement of joint commissioning plans and oversight of performance against outcomes

JSNA – Joint Strategic Needs Assessment Joint Strategic Needs Assessment describes a process that identifies current and future health and wellbeing needs in light of existing services, and informs future service planning taking into account evidence of effectiveness Joint Strategic Needs Assessment identifies “the big picture” in terms of the health and wellbeing needs and inequalities of a local population

JSNA Timescale JSNA will assess current and future needs. Public Health Board The Public Health Board will act as a multi- agency forum to enable all parts of the public health system in Hertfordshire such as Public Health England, District Councils, Hertfordshire County Council, the Police and Crime Commissioner, NHS bodies and other agencies to effectively work together.
