R1 SPAC Objectives, Accomplishments & Plans 1.IEEE-USA Region average is about 5SPACs annually, with several making 7-8 SPACs. 2.Our own Region 1 has averaged about 3-4 in recent years. 3.My 2008 objectives are 1.reach out to most student branches in R1, 2.Complete 5-6 SPACs in Set up for 6-8 SPACs in 2009

R1 SPAC Objectives, Accomplishments & Plans 1.3 SPACs completed – July 2008 (Univ of Massachusetts- Dartmouth, CCNY, RPI) 2.1 SPAC planned in Sept 2008 – (Univ of Rhode Island) 3.3 SPACs are actively pursued (Syracuse University, Rutgers University, SUNY at New Paltz) 4.Attended IEEE-USA SPAC Leadership Conference in Baton Rouge in April 2008 to align and seek support from IEEE-USA Leadership.

R1 SPAC Objectives, Accomplishments & Plans 1.Reach out to most student branch leads –Sept/Oct 08 - Over 50 student branches, but most are inactive 2.Develop a dashboard of student branches & contacts, and track SPAC history 3.Seek section chairs/PACE chairs help to build support & momentum 4.SPAW – organized by IEEE-USA Leadership planned in R1 in 2009 – seeking candidate venue/universities 5.Tentative – Student Leadership Conference in Collect Best Practices from schools that regularly conduct SPACs

R1 SPAC – How Can You Help 1.As section chair/PACE/GOLD/Student Activities chair, 1.spread the word to your college contacts 2.Involve the region coordinator anything that needs follow up 3.Your pledge of $50-100/- can make a sea change and can help SPACs take off.
