HAWLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL POLICY FOR SEX AND RELATIONSHIPS EDUCATION Some key points from our policy: Our aim in providing Sex and Relationships Education is to:  Provide balanced factual information about human reproduction, together with consideration of the broader emotional, ethical, religious, and moral dimensions of sexual health. Our SRE programme aims to prepare pupils for an adult life in which they can:  Develop positive values and a moral framework that will guide their decisions, judgements and behaviour;  Have the confidence and self esteem to value themselves and others and respect for individual conscience and the skills to judge what kind of relationship they want.

Questions asked and answered  Both formal and informal SRE arising from pupil’s questions are answered according to the age and maturity of the pupil concerned.  Questions do not have to be answered directly and can be addressed individually later.  The school believes that individual teachers must use their skill and discretion in this area and refer to the Designated Safeguarding Leader if they are concerned.
